Peppery are again working with the Bangladeshi Support Centre to programme the main stage at this unique event which celebrates the diversity in Ipswich and Suffolk as a whole, bringing communities together through music, dance, arts and crafts, and food in a fun environment. Global Rhythm

on the cornhill

Global Rhythm is temporarily moving onto The Cornhill in Ipswich for a showcase event ‘Global Rhythm on the Cornhill’ to promote the return of Global Rhythm in 2020 on Christchurch Park.

The four main stages have combined together to make one main stage for this year's event, in the heart of Ipswich Town Centre. Bringing you music from around the world.

The music starts at 10am and ends at 4pm

The Brass Funkeys

Galloping Gypsy Czárdas, Pumping Brass Driven Funk

This year's Ipswich Jazz Festival runs from June 21st to 23rd, with a full programme of live music, film, art and workshops. Once again the weekend kicks off with a Peppery party night - this year featuring the Brass Funkeys with a lively mix of  Galloping Gypsy Czárdas, Soulful Jazz Funeral Marches and Pumping Brass Driven Funk. SON YAMBU

SON YAMBU play authentic Cuban Son, the intoxicating fusion of Spanish and African music that that originated in the streets of eastern Cuba and gave rise to Salsa. They give this irresistible music a contemporary edge, bringing their audiences a truly sensational, authentic Latin music experience.

Since their debut album ‘La Maravilla’ was released to rave reviews (**** Songlines, **** The Evening Standard), Son Yambu have gone from strength to strength. The band members, who all have a lifetime’s experience playing Son, mainly come from Santiago De Cuba (the birthplace of Son) and are all passionate about maintaining the traditions of the genre and continuing the Buena Vista legacy that put Cuban music back on the map.

With Martin Belmont (Graham Parker, Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash) on Stratocaster and 6-String Bass and world famous pedal steel guitar ace BJ Cole (Elton John, REM, The Verve etc.) in the band you get three legends for the price of one!
